9th Santa Claus Dance

What is it about?

A weekend full of Square Dance with a bit Round Dance to have some rest. As usually, you may expect tons of good temper and fun. Despite the official cancellation of the Basic program, we expect all of you to know this term very well. For those with a doubt, knowledge of the first 53 figures of the Mainstream level is sufficient to dance a "Basic" tip. If you still feel some doubt or have any question, please contact us and everything will be explained.

In addition, on Friday evening, a traditional team contest challenging both your mind and body will take place. On Saturday we expect Santa Claus himself to arrive. He will be ready to distribute generous presents to your friends (if you generously bring them and let us hand them to Santa :) ).

Where does it take place?

In IV. Elementary School, Jitřní street 185, Prague 4 - Hodkovičky.

How much does it cost?

Entrance is free, but only for an owner of a badge. The price of a badge is 240 CZK (no fee for spending the night). For those who have already been to some of our Specials before have a discount after showing a Crazy Special badge(s) with appropriate appending label. The discount is 1 CZK for badge with one label, for second label another 2 CZK discount, and for every additional label another discount, 1 CZK greater than for the previous label.

For example, a dancer who has not missed any of our Specials and has a badge label from all previous Crazy Specials has a total discount of 91 CZK (13+12+11+...+3+2+1 CZK)

Other discounts (for example, if you come only for Saturday) are not possible.

Who will be there?

Many nice people, we believe. Martin "Pavouk" Podlaha, Tomáš "Doug" Machalík, Jirka Rogalevicz and our guest from overseas Al Stevens will do the calling. František Čermák will do the cueing.

How will you sleep?

We believe well. Bring a sleeping bag and ground blanket with you, school classes will serve as a dormitory.

What about food?

There are many possibilities. You make bring a food with you, you may visit some restaurant or confide in our buffet. We guarantee you will not starve.

How to get there?

By public transport: Take a bus number 106 from C-line metro station Kačerov (or from tram and railway station Nádraží Braník) to station Psohlavců, or bus number 121 from C-line metro station Budějovická (or from tram and railway station Nádraží Braník) to station Na Lysinách and then follow the map.
By car: The best access roads lead from the Jižní Spojka bypass (which connects D1 motorway from Brno, the Barrandov Bridge and D5 motorway from Plzeň), or from the Barrandov Bridge itself (direction Modřany) - follow the map. Parking is ensured on the school's premises.

The dressing:

We expect the ladies to dance in skirts of appropriate length, petticoat is welcome. We expect gentlemen to wear a long sleeve shirt and toe- or at least ankle-long trouser-legs.

During the Easy Basic Workshop, Swing Thru a Run figures will be teached.
For completeness, we remind you that by Basic program we mean first 53 figures of Mainstream level (figures up to Ferris Wheel).
